This is not the greatest picture of me...
That's the same skirt from my other Civil War outfit; I made a blouse and jacket so I could have two outfits in one. This is an outfit suitable for visiting, errands in town, and general day-to-dayness. The hoops are actually a little wide for that kind of activity, but I wasn't about to buy a new one JUST for this. Roughly 20yds of snag-a-licious cotton-poly in the skirt and jacket (which is fully lined). About 2yds of black cotton-poly for the blouse underneath. Maybe 5yds decorative braid. Machine sewn. Special thanks to mom's serger, without which, this outfit would not have been possible. |
