My getup for Katsucon 2006. Sadly, only 10 people knew who I was (and this was AFTER I started whacking any cape-wearers with a rolled-up newspaper) and I only got two photo ops. Ah well. I got a pin that says "No Capes!" out of it.
Er yes, the dress was based off the same Butterick pattern I used for the Sally dress I made last year. The body of the dress is a nylon immitation of satin (a bit cheaper, stronger, and less of a pain to work with) and the sleeves are manymany layers of dollar bin cotton. I edged the collar with a maroon ribbon. The mock-turtle and leggings had been lying in my dresser drawer for years and the shoes I bought in a panic at Lord&Taylor back when I was working there 'cause the ones I had been wearing broke. The wig I bought at K-mart and had my mom trim. The glasses were Walmart cheapies that I punched the lenses out of and the cigarette holder is courtesy of my late Great-great-aunt Mae who used it back in the 1930s so it's authentic.
EEEEEEEEEEEEE! Edna Mode! I love that nutty lady soooooo much! ^____^ And yes, I do know who she is ^_^; She designs outfits for "gods" as she herself called superheroes
